Heron Lake Village, built in the late 1990s, is located within Tidewater Plantation, an established, security-gated, upscale community on the north end of the Grand Strand. The biggest complaint most people have about Tidewater is the short but necessary drive along Little River Neck Road (with many rundown properties) before reaching the entrance to Tidewater Plantation.
