Golf Colony is located within Deerfield Plantation, a community started in the early 1980s (approx) with a mix of homes and condos. Originally, Deerfield was built around the Deer Track golf courses, but they have since closed. At the height of the building boom, the courses were proposed for more residential development, but those plans have since been scraped.
